Tams Sunshine House currently has no openings for this Fall. If you would like to be placed on a waitlist please email your information to the email address listed on our contact page. Currently, our hours are only Monday to Friday 5 am to 530 pm
Could you email me a copy of the receipt for the pressure washer? The handle broke and they said if I send a picture of the handle and a copy of the receipt, they would replace it under warranty…
Recently, Tams Sunshine House was asked to explain the decision regarding the changes to the general business hours of operation. Many factors go into such a decision like any other business. It is never easy to make decisions that affect others, such as the decision to stop providing extend service hours for several families. All of the families were affected by the decision to change the business hours in January and February in 2020.
The general hours of operation for the childcare has not changed since March 1, 2020 5am to 9 pm until COVID 19 hit on March 15, 2020 when Governor Whitmer ordered all childcares to close or be listed Essential. Since that date Tams Sunshine House has been working under Executive Orders only and following all the new recommendations and requirements set for by those Executive Orders.
As of May 31, 2020, Tams Sunshine House continues to operate under Executive Orders as issued by the Governor Whitmer.
As many Michigan families are able to Stay Safe and Stay Home many families still need to go out into our communities as "essential workers". Tams Sunshine House wants to remind families if you are in need of child care we are a telephone call away from reliable child care services. We have everyone of you in our thoughts and prays every day. Thank you for all that you do for our communities.
Tams Sunshine House wishes everyone a safe and happy Easter.
Tams Sunshine House is committed to helping limit the effects of COVID-19. Please know that we are keeping those affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our thoughts while we closely watch the evolving situation. We are currently open, and we are in a day by day status: Essential Workers only at this time per Executive Orders.
Tams Sunshine House will be closed as normal for Good Friday, April 10, 2020~ and like everyone else Staying Home and Staying Safe!
Due to the level of potential exposure to COVID-19 that because we all have been deemed “Essential Workers”; MDHHS has requested that all child cares limit the amount of additional exposure to the facilities. One way we have chosen to implement this is by allowing parents into the entry way porch but not into the second house door to the main facility without screening. You will be meant and greeted at that door and your child’s temperature taken to help evaluate their health and yours. Once your child’s health has been deemed within the MDHHS standards you may then leave for the day. If you child has any of the following they will not be admitted to care for the day and until they are clear of any symptoms below: This will be strictly enforced~
The screenings criteria includes:
· Symptoms of a respiratory infection,
· such as fever of 100.1 degrees Fahrenheit or higher,
· severe cough and/or shortness of breath unrelated to a chronic condition.
· Visual signs runny nose, tiredness, or any visual signs of distress
“Dr. London of the Kent County Health Department said people with a fever would not be allowed to enter a childcare facility until they have been fever-free for 72 hours without the use of medications, seven days have passed since the onset of severe coughing and/or breathing difficulties, and symptoms have improved.” (WWMT 3).
· Tams Sunshine House will now be using Dr. London’s recommendations throughout the remainder of this outbreak. Our policy on Temperature remains the same 100.1 or greater is not permitted.
· We ask that parents enter onto our porch and get their child ready to come into the program
· We will take a quick forehead temperature to verify that the child is fever-free.
· We ask that parents do not enter into the main house without having been screened themselves. The house screen door will be locked for everyone safety. If this is an issue, please speak with Ms. Tam
Thank you for your help,
**Per State of Michigan Executive orders 2020-16-21 and MDHHS
March has been a very stressful month from learning about the COVID-19 virus to moving the childcare into a day by day operation to being ordered by the Governor to only provide care for "essential workers".
I want to say thank you to all of our wonderful parents and your generous uplifting and pleasant attitudes during this outbreak. I know that many nights I sit and just pray for all of us. We just have to remember to keep moving forward~ yesterday is done and tomorrow is a new day.
I look forward to getting the childcare back on track with new ideas for summer activities that will be centered more around the child care verses out in the public due to the unknown effects of this virus. This might seem over protective, but this is the new world we live in we need to beware of our surroundings and exposures to the outside world.
Thinking of all of you stay safe~
March has been a real roller coaster ride! I can honestly say that it has never crossed my mind that I would be in a position that I would need to write almost daily notices to families that begin with this statement:
Tams Sunshine House is committed to helping limit the effects of COVID-19. Please know that we are keeping those affected by coronavirus (COVID-19) in our thoughts while we closely watch the evolving situation. We are currently open and we are in a day by day status: “Essential Workers Only”
Tams Sunshine House has everyone in our thoughts and prayers daily. I truly pray that this “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order is lifted as soon it is safe for everyone. If you are an Essential Worker in need of childcare we do have space available. Know that we are following the recommendations of the Michigan Department of Health Human Services and CDC to maintain a safe environment for everyone in our program.
Stay Safe~please only travel if essential
